Due to the overwhelming reply for players at the start of the season Hangleton Rangers U9's found itself in April 2011 having to split into 2 teams. Hangleton Rangers Black / White.
All information on these pages relates only to Hangleton Rangers Black.
Currently coached by Mr Dave Arnold and Assisted by Mr Stuart Hensley team Black now hopes to move forward and build a team for future competitive League Football. When the split happened there was a meeting and current players and those new players were split evenly between the 2 teams. Mr Arnold was the only person to step forward to take the reigns of the new Black team, Which now has 6/8 players that had never experienced team football before. We fully appreciate that for some of you the split wasn't what you wanted, but for the sake of the players it was actually the way forward.
We now have 28 players in 2 teams that get a 7 a side game every week.
At this point we would like to point out that the U9's football is NOT! fully competitive, the results don't account for anything. Yes to win every game would be outstanding and 100% morale boosting but the reality is team Black are starting from scratch. Yes from scratch but with some fantastic players, already we have had some quite brilliant performances from some individual players. And these performances have been rewarded with Man Of The Match & Personal Performance certificates. The coaches here are 100% committed to building a team that will over the next 2 seasons be ready and able to compete at proper competitive League Football. We really do believe we are working with the talent to do this.

As coaches we can only pass on our knowledge of the game through our own personal experiences, And in our case (Dave & Stu's) we both have vast experience at School & County League levels. As much as we want to run on the field of play and score goals for them, when they are struggling they are going to have to learn to work together and keep their heads up to achieve those rewarding results. It's all about having fun with a group of your friends but learning the skill, physical & concentration aspects of football. Yes every young child wants to be a Rooney or Messi and take on the world, but it is our job to get these players working as members of a team.
We would also like to encourage the friends and families of the players to work with us, supporting your children and encouraging them to listen to their coaches. (We are only here to help them). As a child there is nothing more pleasing than to hear your family and friends shouting encouragement from the touchlines (Match Days).
We would also like all parents to feel free to discuss with the coaches any arising issues with regard to this football team.
